Paradise Lakes Mobile Homes Slated for Destruction

A flood-damaged mobile home park in Bellevue will be torn down. Bellevue city officials say demolition of more than 200 mobile homes at Paradise Lakes will start in about 30 days. The mobile homes were condemned after they were damaged by floodwaters in March 2019.  The mobile homes have attracted looters and have been the scene of house fires over the past year.

Paradise Lake Fires Ruled Suspicious

A series of fires in a flood-damaged Sarpy County community are ruled suspicious in nature.  The fires broke out yesterday in the Paradise Lake community.  Two abandoned trailer homes in the community burned yesterday.  The trailers in Paradise Lake were deemed uninhabitable following this past spring's floods.  

*UPDATE: Bellevue officials say the fires are believed to be the work of vandals, and that tearing down the flood-damaged homes could cost 1.5 million dollars.

Looters Target Flood Damaged Homes

(Bellevue, NE)  --  Police are on the lookout for looters at a flood-damaged mobile home park in Bellevue.  Authorities say looters have been targeting homes at Paradise Lakes for the past several weeks.  The city has deemed Paradise Lakes to be contaminated, and the mobile home park will be demolished.
