Joslyn to Own and Manage Kent Bellows Studio and Mentoring Program

As of January 1st, Joslyn Art Museumwill own the Kent Bellows Studio & Center for Visual Arts, as well as manage its Young Artist Mentoring Program.

Jack Becker is Executive Director of the Joslyn Art Museum. He says the museum will facilitate, manage and, in time, grow the program.

Becker says students won’t see too much difference at the studio, but offerings will be expanded in the future. He says Kent Bellows Studio has a terrific program that should be in the community.

"It’s a really wonderful program that serves this interesting niche for teens. There’s a quirkiness to the program and we want to maintain that but we want to make sure that it can sustain itself. And we know over time that we will be able to grow it and expand it as well, and sustain it.”

The Kent Bellows Studio/Center was founded in 2007 and is named for Nebraska-born artist Kent Bellows, who died in 2005.
