Nebraska jobless rate drops to 3.6 percent

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A newly released report says Nebraska's preliminary unemployment rate dropped to 3.6 percent in April.

That's two-tenths of a point below the revised March rate of 3.8 percent, which was a tenth of a point higher than the preliminary March rate of 3.7 percent.

The Nebraska Labor Department said in the report released Friday that the preliminary April rate is four-tenths of a point below the revised rate of 4 percent in April 2013.

The new Nebraska figure remained well below the preliminary national unemployment rate of 6.3 percent in April, which is down four-tenths of a point from March's 6.7 percent.
