OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Police say an elderly Omaha woman who was found unconscious in her home after an attack has died from her injuries.
Seventy-six-year-old Mary McAndrews died Wednesday from unspecified injuries suffered in the Sept. 18 assault. Omaha police arrested 54-year-old John Gomez in connection to the attack on Oct. 8. He is charged with first-degree assault.
Police say amended charges are pending following the death. They haven't released other details about the incident.
Gomez is being held on $500,000 bond in the Douglas County Jail. Online jail records didn't indicate an attorney.
