Douglas County homeowners will pay more in property taxes this fiscal year.
Commissioners approved the 2013-14 budget at Tuesday morning’s meeting. The $324 million budget includes a property tax increase of 1.6 cents on $100 of assessed valuation.
Commissioners approved the budget on a 4-3 vote. Board members Pam Tusa, Mary Ann Borgeson, and P.J. Morgan voted against it.
An amendment moved $150,000 from the County’s general fund cash reserve to the Community Mental Health Center.
Douglas County’s fiscal year began July 1.
