OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Billionaire Warren Buffett says he's confident the federal budget dispute will eventually be resolved.
Buffett said on CNBC Thursday that he expects the nation's leaders to "go right up to the point of extreme idiocy" but won't cross that point.
Democrats are refusing to consider making changes to the nation's health care overall that Congressional Republicans are demanding.
Buffett says the United States won't be crippled if the political debate stretches just past the October 17th deadline for Congress to renew the government's authority to borrow money. He is chairman and CEO of the Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate.
But Buffett says it's unimaginable that the disagreement could stretch beyond that significantly.
