Council Bluffs, IA – The Bluffs Arts Council plans to expand its staff thanks to a grant from the state of Iowa.
The $11,400 grant will allow the Council to hire additional staff and a Project Director for the Black Squirrel Arts Academy. That's a week-long camp held every summer for seven-to-12 year olds.
Bluffs Arts Council Executive Director Laural Ronk says the camp goes beyond a basic arts education. For example, she says one session focuses on Iowa's architecture.
Ronk says the Bluffs Arts Council wants to expand the Black Squirrel Arts Academy, possibly making it a six-week program during the school year.
