Omaha, NE – Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson says his vote on health care reform isn't for sale.
During his weekly conference call Wednesday with reporters, Nelson fired back at reports that he's been threatened with the closure of Offutt Air Force Base or offered something in exchange for a yes vote. Nelson says he hasn't been pressured, threatened, or offered anything, and dismissed the reports as rumors designed to distract from real discussion on health care reform.
Nelson and his fellow Senate Democrats met Tuesday at the White House with President Obama. But Nebraska's senior Senator says he still has unresolved concerns with the health care legislation. Nelson met one-on-one with the President to talk about the health care reform bill.
Senator Nelson says a vote on the health care legislation may not happen before Christmas as leaders hope.
