Feds Give Omaha Millions To Fight Lead Contamination

Old windows can be a big source of lead contamination.

Omaha is getting over 34-million dollars from the federal government to reduce lead contamination. Nearly 30-million dollars is coming from the Environmental Protection Agency and another four-point-four-million is coming from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The money was handed out during a ceremony last Friday. The E-P-A money will be used over the next seven years and the HUD money over the next four years.
