Two tornadoes hit Elkhorn Sunday evening

The National Weather Service says two tornadoes hit Elkhorn Sunday evening.

NWS Omaha meteorologists surveyed the damage areas Monday. Both tornadoes were an EF-1, with winds of up to 110 miles per hour.

One tornado touched down near Two Rivers Recreational Area and cut an 800-yard path for seven miles before ending near the Skyline Ranches area.

The second tornado touched down a mile northwest of Elkhorn. It had a path of 5 miles and was 200 yards wide. The tornado ended 3 miles south of Bennington.

No injuries were reported.
