The Omaha Public Library is offering free passes to the Children's Museum

The Omaha Public Library is partnering with the Omaha Children’s Museum to offer free museum admission to patrons with library cards.

Getzschman, Marketing & Media Relations Manager, says all library branches will begin checking tickets out to patrons next Tuesday, September 4th.

Each branch will have 100 tickets that will be offered first-come, first served.  Getzschman says each ticket provides admission for up to four people but groups must include one adult and one child.

Here she explains why the library has these kinds of partnerships.

"Whatever they offer in their organization might spark an interest in a child that they want to learn more about.  And they can learn more about it at the library so working together they not only get that experiences and hands-on opportunity to live and work in that environment, but then they can come to the library and maybe study it without even realizing that that’s what they’re doing.  They just have an interest in it and we can help with that.”

Getzschman says the library’s first partner was the Omaha Zoo.  She says these partnerships expose people to amazing destinations in the city.

Some tickets are only available at certain times of year while others, like the day passes for Fontenelle Forest, are offered year round.

The Omaha Children’s Museum passes are available September 4th through November 30th.  100 passes will be on hand at each library branch.  For more information, the website is OmahaLibrary.org.
