Ricketts announces agency, commission appointments

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska Governor-elect Pete Ricketts has announced four appointments for state government jobs once he takes office.

Ricketts said Friday he will re-appoint Ronnie Mitchell as director of the Department of Aeronautics, Jim Heine as state fire marshal, Major General Daryl Bohac as adjutant general of the Nebraska National Guard and Bob Ripley as the Capitol administrator.

Mitchell has served as the Department of Aeronautics' director since 2009. Heine has been state fire marshal since 2012. Bohac was appointed to his position with the Nebraska National Guard in July 2013. All three positions are part of the governor's cabinet.

Ripley has served as administrator for the Nebraska Capitol Commission since 2004.

Ricketts says each person brings strong experience to the job.
