Supreme Court Rules On Church Participation In Divorce Case

(Lincoln, NE)  --  A decision is out from the Nebraska Supreme Court on the topic of church attendance.  A man went to court after discovering his ex-wife was taking their children to Lutheran Church during her time with them, and said the divorce decree the two were bound by required the children to be participants in the Catholic religion.  A Douglas County judge ordered the wife to take her kids to Mass, but the Supreme Court overturned that.  The court said it's not for a civil court to decide if participation in the Catholic religion requires weekly Mass attendance, but it did say the divorce decree didn't specifically require the attendance.
