Holidays & Cold Weather Are Hard for Alzheimer's Patients, Diane Hendricks Explains “Live & Local”

The hustle and bustle of the holidays along with bone-chilling weather can be very difficult for people with any stage of dementia.  From the confusion of surroundings changing (due to seasonal decorations) to forgetting to check the outside temperature and not properly bundling up, caregivers need to be on the lookout for opportunities to help patients navigate this time of year.

Diane Hendricks is a social worker for the Nebraska Alzheimer's Association.  She sits down with Mike Hogan on KIOS-FM to offer tips and hints on making sure the holidays are safe, healthy, and fun for everyone surrounding a person with any stage of dementia.
