Omaha, NE – The Mid-America Council of Boy Scouts are remembering the four people killed when a tornado destroyed the camp June 11, 2008.
A ceremony Thursday in Omaha recognized the event. The camp and ranger's home were heavily destroyed in the tornado at the Little Sioux Scout Ranch. The Mid-America Council of the Boy Scouts lowered their flags to half staff at the Omaha office.
The F3 tornado also injured nearly four dozen people, some seriously. The Mid-America Council is in the process of rebuilding the Scout Camp and plan to install several tornado shelters at the site.
