Gas Leak Leads To Evacuations

(Omaha, NE) -- More than 100 people are forced to evacuate due to a natural gas leak in Omaha's Elkhorn neighborhood. Officials say construction work on a bridge caused gas to leak from a four-inch pipe near 202nd and Hopper last night. Surrounding homes and the nearby Hillrise Elementary School were evacuated as a precaution. Crews had to clamp the pipe and turn it off before making repairs, and the area was declared safe about 10:30 p.m.
