U.S. Economists Sargent, Sims Win 2011 Nobel Prize
Americans Thomas Sargent of New York University and Christopher Sims of Princeton University have won the Nobel Prize in economics. In awarding the $1.5 million prize, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences cited the researchers "for their empirical research on cause and effect in the macroeconomy."

Supplements Look Risky In Study Of Older Women
Use of many common supplements — iron, in particular — appeared to increase the risk of dying, and only calcium supplements appeared to reduce mortality risk. The increased risk amounted to a few percentage points in most instances.
