An Afghan Hell On Earth For 'Darkhorse' Marines
A year ago, the Marines of the 3rd Battalion, 5th Regiment arrived in Sangin, a Taliban haven in southern Afghanistan, for a seven-month deployment. Known as "Darkhorse," the battalion sustained a higher casualty rate than any other Marine unit during the 10-year Afghan war.

Cain Responds To Harassment Allegations
Businessman Herman Cain recently entered the top tier of Republican presidential candidates. A story published Sunday evening by Politico alleges that Cain harassed two female employees when he ran the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s. On Monday, Cain appeared at two public events, a discussion of his 9-9-9 tax plan at the American Enterprise Institute as well as a speech and Q-and-A session at the National Press Club.

High Court Lets Stand Ruling Ordering Removal Of Crosses In Utah
The 12-foot crosses were placed along highways to commemorate state troopers killed in the line of duty. The lower court had ruled that amounted to state endorsement of religion.
Starbucks Hopes To Kick-Start Job Creation
The company is teaming up with a network of community-based financial institutions, and beginning Tuesday anyone can make a tax-deductable contribution at a Starbucks store or online to the Create Jobs for USA Fund. The money will go to companies so they can hire or retain American workers.

'Migrant Hire' Connects Refugees To German Tech Industry
With an aging population and skilled labor shortage, German industry leaders view the almost million migrants who have arrived since 2015 as an opportunity. But integrating them quickly into the labor market is a challenge. Syrian refugee Hussein Shaker may have the answer. He's founded Migrant Hire, a website that helps refugees with software development skills obtain jobs in the capital's lively tech scene.
