The Great Plains Theatre Conference is accepting play submissions

The 14th annual Great Plains Theatre Conference is open for play submissions.

Scott Working, Associate Artistic Director for the Great Plains Theatre Conference, says 20 plays will be selected for public PlayLab readings over the week of May 26, 2019.

He explains acceptance includes a stipend, travel expenses, and room and board for the week.

He says they accept one-acts and full-length plays, but no musicals or children’s theatre.  Submissions are given to an group of readers all over the country.

These readers give the plays a first look and rate them.

"After everything is read and we have compared notes, we will invite 20 plays to come out for a full reading.  They get a few rehearsals and then they are produced in a concert-style reading at music stands over Memorial Day week up at Fort Omaha campus.”

Last year, Working says the GPTC received over a thousand plays from across the globe.  The deadline to enter is October 15th
