Dundee Business District Renovation Project Public Meeting Set for Next Week

Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2013 on the Dundee Business District.

The $2.5 million renovation plan has been in the works for the past three years.  Omaha City Councilman Pete Festersen says the plan is now in its final stages.

He says there will be a final public meeting on Tuesday, October 9th for merchants and residents to give input on the project.  Festersen says attendees will have the opportunity to review the major elements of the plan.

"Replacing all the sidewalks, the curbs, adding additional parking, landscaping and retaining walls.  These are all things that will provide a better environment in the business district for families, for pedestrians, but maybe most importantly for business development since we want the business district to be strong and successful for many years to come and the neighborhood to be safe and strong for many years to come."

Festersen says the Dundee Business District Renovation Plan should be finalized within the next 60 days.

The public meeting takes place Tuesday, October 9th at 6:00 p.m. in the Neighborhood Center, at 115 S. 49th Street.
