If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to start your own business in 2015, the Omaha Public Library will offer a series that teaches you how to make that happen.
Gary Wasdin, Executive Director for the Omaha Public Library, says the library has teamed up with the Small Business Administration for the workshop series.
He says the various workshops will teach people about the resources the library can provide as well as the ins and outs of starting a successful business.
Wasdin says one of the biggest obstacles in getting started is finding financing.
"What kinds of things they can do with their idea to prepare if they are going to apply for a loan. There will be tips and ideas about where to look for money. We will talk about banks that work particularly with individuals who are looking to start a small business. So there will be advice and recommendations as well as assistance in preparing a business plan for people to look for that start up financing.”
Other workshops cover where the money goes in a small business and how to start an online business the right way.
Workshops are held at Noon on Tuesdays, beginning January 6th and running through February 10th. Lunch is provided to those attending.
