UNO Chancellor highlights school's growth, collaborations
UNO’s Chancellor says research and collaborations are growing along with the campus.Chancellor John Christensen talked about UNO’s growth and future during the State of the University address last week. Baxter Arena, the university’s new sports venue, opened last month. Christensen says construction is getting underway on new campus housing for 400 students.
He also highlighted a growth in funding for research, which has reached about $20 million.
"Student research has also grown dramatically in the past few years thanks to faculty leadership and monitoring as well as the support of the Office of Research and Creative Activity, which has provided over $480,000 in seed funding for student projects during 2014-15."
Christensen says he’ll be reaching out to faculty, staff, and students for input on UNO’s future needs. Last year, UNO welcomed its largest undergraduate class in the school’s history.
