StoryCorps returns to Omaha

StoryCorps has returned to Omaha, and you’re encouraged to share your story over the next month.

The NPR project began in 2003. StoryCorps visits 10 cities each year, and was last in Omaha in 2007. KIOS is sponsoring the StoryCorps visit, along with the Omaha Public Library and Joslyn Art Museum. Emily Janssen, site manager for StoryCorps, says they've recorded in all 50 states.

"Over 100,000 people have participated, and we have archived more than 58,000 interviews in our archive at the American Folklife Center. This is the largest single collection of human voices gathered."

The second round of reservations opened Friday at 10 a.m. To make a reservation, call 1-800-850-4406, or log on to storycorps.org/reservations. StoryCorps is in Omaha through May 15.
