Restore Omaha 2016 takes place March 4th and March 5th in the Culinary Arts Building at Metro’s Fort Omaha Campus.
Restoration Exchange Omaha executive director Kristine Gerber says the conference focuses on ideas, solutions, inspiration, and motivation to restore an older home or older building you might own.
She says there will be three breakout sessions with six different topics in each one on the 5th.
Homeowners can learn how to research the history of their house as well as how to restore their old wood floors. Gerber says this year there will be a special session the day before the conference.
"We are doing a special pre-conference this year and it’s specifically for economic developers, developers, real estate professionals, people that need to know about the funding opportunities that are available if you want to restore a commercial property, a revenue-generating property.”
Gerber says the pre-session takes place Friday, March 4th. Local and national speakers will be on hand to advise people about tax credits that are available to assist them in the restoration process.
The Friday night tour and reception takes place from 6:30 to 10 at the 1918 Blue Lion buildings near 24th and Lake Streets. Saturday’s events take place from 8 to 5.
