(Omaha, NE) -- The Catholic Archdiocese of Omaha is confirming a case of the mumps. The archdiocese says it's at the John Paul the Second Newman Center near the University of Nebraska-Omaha, which provides 131 higher education students with housing. State epidemiologist Dr. Tom Safranek tells the Omaha World-Herald the resident who has it attended a wedding in northeast Nebraska, where a recent outbreak of the mumps had happened. Officials say colleges and universities attended by the students at the center, including UNO, have been notified.
