Nebraska Children's Home to Celebrate 125th Anniversary

The Nebraska Children’s Home Society will celebrate its 125th anniversary on Saturday, June 9th at 5:30 at the Embassy Suites Conference Center.

Children First for 125 Years is the theme of the night. NCHS CEO, Lana Temple-Plotz, says the organization serves tens of thousands of people throughout the state each year.  Their programs include parent education, in-home services, foster care, adoption, early childhood education and community education for youth and adults.

Temple-Plotz says the featured speaker for their anniversary event is author Josh Shipp, whose talk is entitled, “The Power of One Caring Adult.”

“He knows all too well the difference one caring adult can make in the life of a child. He particularly had a challenging childhood, bouncing from one foster home to the next, and then a handful of caring adults reached out to him and really helped him.  He’s a best-selling author and youth empowerment expert and acclaimed speaker.”
