“Women of Government” Luncheon Supports and Develops Aspiring Public Servants, Gina Ponce Discusses

Bellevue University will present “Women of Government,” a luncheon event designed to support and develop aspiring public servants, on Thursday, Dec. 5, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., in the John B. Muller Administrative Services Building, 812 Bruin Blvd., Bellevue, NE 68005.

The “Women of Government” event features a panel of four female public officials from the Omaha metropolitan area: Rita Sanders, District Representative for U.S. Congressman Jeff Fortenberry; Rosalyn Cotton, Chair, Nebraska Board of Parole; Diane Battiato, Douglas County Assessor/Register of Deeds; and Michelle Andahl, Sarpy County Election Commissioner.

According to Gina Ponce, Bellevue University’s Director of Latino Community Outreach, the panel discussion and luncheon is an opportunity for attendees to be inspired and to learn how, specifically, the panelists started and have sustained their involvement in public service and government roles.

Gina stops by to chat with Mike Hogan "Live & Local" on KIOS-FM about the program, this specific installment, and the good that happens when women have the chance to learn from mentors.

Attendees can register by calling 402-293-2000 by December 2nd.
