Omaha, NE – Boys Town and the Peter Kiewit Foundation are offering a series of classes on Parenting Fundamentals.
Laura Buddenberg is a training manager for Boys Town. She says last week's class focused on school and homework. This week centers on healthy families and on making meal time, family-time. Buddenberg says the classes give parents specific problem-solving techniques they can use with their kids right away. She says the classes are, "topic-driven discussions with parents, designed to give them a few skills to help them smooth out family life a little bit better. These are sort of a quick hit because they are only an hour but they are also kind of a taste of what parents get should they choose to sign up for a full six-week session of common sense parenting."
Buddenberg says next week's session will focus on technology and social skills. All classes take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and are complimentary. For location information, the website is www.boystown.org/fundamentals.
