Omaha, NE – This season's Missouri River flooding has left both physical and emotional damage behind.
The Iowa Emergency Management Agency announced a new hotline called Project Recovery Iowa during its weekly conference call. Operations Director Joyce Flinn says the new hotline is intended to help those with crisis issues related to the flooding, "They do have operators available 24/7 to assist and it is a federally funded crisis counseling assistance program and the goal is to assist individuals and communities in recovering from the challenges of the natural and human caused disasters."
Flinn says all affected counties in Iowa are continuing to monitor and mitigate issues, especially with levees. She says an incident management team from Colorado will be in Council Bluffs to offer assistance until July 30th.
