Severe Weather & Flooding Information

(UPDATE - 1:12 p.m.) - According to the website all roads near Fremont and surronding areas in Dodge county have flooded and are closed.   

(UPDATE 12:28 p.m.) - **EVACUATION UPDATE**  North Bend has issued a citywide voluntary evacuation order. They are urging all residents to leave North Bend immediately and head for Snyder. Authorities say the situation at North Bend is rapidly worsening - please do not wait, leave NOW! 

**EVACUATION UPDATE** City of Fremont evacuation update - all areas south of first street, especially the area between Pierce street and Platte street should evacuate. Police are reporting heavy traffic in this area - do not drive into the south area of Fremont unless you are evacuating.

Please stay out of the way of evacuating residents and first responders!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Volunteers are needed to fill sandbags. All volunteers should report to Arps Ready Mix on Vine Street.

[UPDATE] 11:51 a.m. --- FREMONT  – Residents in Valley and the surrounding area are required to evacuate their homes and businesses immediately. This is an emergency mandatory evacuation of the entire township of Valley and all surrounding homes.

Water is continuing to rise after a levee near Reichmuth road was breached. Doug Eggen, Assistant Public Works Superintendent advised that as of 9:38AM, there is a mandatory evacuation order for all Valley residents.

Please evacuate the area NOW to avoid loss of life and safety.

[UPDATE] 11:50 a.m. --- 11:06 a.m. -- The Elkhorn River is flowing over westbound lanes on West Dodge Road. Westbound traffic is backing up after emergency crews blocked westbound lanes of Dodge, starting at 204th Street. Eastbound lanes remain open at this time.

10:41 a.m. -- Sarpy County officials are encouraging residents living along the Missouri or Platte rivers to evacuate at this time.

The National Weather Service in Omaha issued a "Flash Flood Emergency" at 10:18 a.m. CDT this morning due to a levee failure near Valley, Nebraska.  Immediate evacuation orders were issued.  The content of that emergency warning are below:

Effected counties include:

Southeastern Dodge County

Western Douglas County

Northeastern Saunders

* Until 1015 AM CDT Saturday.

* At 10:18 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported a levee on the Union Dike has failed, which will cause imminent flash flooding of the surrounding areas.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for the areas around Valley between the Platte and Elkhorn Rivers. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

This is an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.  If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.  Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
