The honor was announced at an awards ceremony Thursday.
Sgt. Kendall was selected, "for his excellent work in handling a barricade situation and his medical response."
Along with Sgt. Kendall's honor approximately 50 officers are being recognized for their exceptional service.
This is the 19th annual Officer of the Year ceremony presented by the Omaha Police Foundation.
