With much of Eastern Nebraska in Exceptional Drought, the worst Drought category, the dry conditions are slowing crop growth. This week's U-S-D-A Crop report for Nebraska says more than half of corn crops are fair to very poor, and nearly 60-percent of soybean crops are fair to very poor. The Plains Region Department of Agriculture reports more than half of the state's soil moisture is ranked less than adequate.
