Governor Jim Pillen is asking the federal government for help after the recent heat resulted in a significant cattle die-off at eastern Nebraska feedlots. Pillen is calling on help from the Livestock Indemnity Program, which can cover around 75 percent of cattle losses. Pillen says he's unsure how many cattle died during the heatwave.
