An investment from the USDA will provide more wind and solar energy in central and east-central Nebraska. The Empowering Rural America Program grants will give funding to Nebraska G&T. The utility says it'll use the money to invest in solar and wind energy in Butler, Burt, and Custer Counties. The USDA says the project should supply enough energy to power 170-thousand homes annually, and support more than 400 jobs.
