The University of Nebraska is seeking an increase in state funding. University officials met with the Legislature's Appropriations Committee yesterday to ask for a three-point-five percent funding increase. The request comes after Governor Jim Pillen and Appropriations Committee Chair Robert Clements are looking to cut 14-million dollars in core state funding from the university.
