Governor Dave Heineman is expected to release more details Friday morning about his income tax plan.
During his State of the State address Tuesday, Heineman called for an end to Nebraska’s individual and corporate income taxes. He says the state can make up the lost revenue by ending $2.4 billion worth of tax breaks.
A budget report from the Nebraska Legislature says the state will bring in $4.2 billion in revenue during the 2011-2013 biennium from those taxes.
The Nebraska Legislature is scheduled to adjourn June fifth.
