After tournament loss, Creighton basketball focuses on Big East move

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Now that the season is over, Creighton's coaching staff is getting ready for the Bluejays' move to the Big East.

After Sunday's 65-53 loss to Duke in the third round of the NCAA tournament in Philadelphia, the coaches stayed in the East to recruit.

Whether Greg McDermott can successfully mine new recruiting areas for Big East-caliber players is only one question facing the Bluejays. Also unknown is whether Doug McDermott will return for his senior season or enter the NBA draft. His deadline for declaring is April 28.

The Bluejays will lose as many as three starters from the team that won 28 games and swept the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season and postseason titles.
