A new professional soccer team is coming to Omaha. The United Soccer League has awarded a USL League One franchise to Alliance Omaha Soccer Holdings. The team will play its home games at Werner Park, which will be renovated to accommodate soccer in time for the 2020 season. Former University of Nebraska Omaha soccer coach Jay Mims will coach the new team.
