(Lincoln, NE) -- Nebraska baseball coach Darren Erstad resigned after eight years in the dugout. His team earned a NCAA Tournament bid this season, but was eliminated Sunday at the Oklahoma City Regional. The Huskers went 267-193-and-1 under Erstad. He said he is "ready for the next phase of his life." Erstad, who turns 45 today, was a punter for the Cornhuskers' 1994 national championship football team and was an All-American baseball player. He played 14 years in the majors.
