Petting Zoo Prepares For Legal Fight With Humane Society

An Omaha petting zoo wants its animals back. Nine animals deemed wild by the Nebraska Humane Society were removed from Scatter Joy Acres through a city ordinance. The petting zoo says it has the proper permits and documentation for the animals. Scatter Joy Acres has filed a formal complaint with the City of Omaha and sent a letter to the Humane Society threatening legal action.

Elderly Woman Attacked By Foster Dog

A woman is recovering after she was attacked by her foster dog yesterday. The woman tells K-E-T-V that she was attacked when she tried to stop her pit bull from attacking another one of her dogs. She says the dog ran away after neighbors helped to save her. The Nebraska Humane Society says the dog was found and will be quarantined for ten days.


(Lincoln, NE)  --  A Lincoln animal shelter is looking to find new homes for dozens of cats.  The Capital Humane Society received 84 cats from a single owner this past weekend.  Humane Society officials say the large number of felines put a strain on the shelter resources.  The cats are receiving wellness exams, and some of them will be available for adoption at the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center today at 11:30 a.m.

(Omaha, NE)  --  A group of rescued dogs is now available for adoption.  The Nebraska Humane Society announced yesterday that more than a dozen dogs that they received earlier this month can be adopted out.  The dogs are among nearly 170 that were rescued from a puppy mill in Worth County near the Iowa-Minnesota border.
