(Omaha, NE) -- The Omaha-Douglas Public Building Commission is voted to issue bonds for a new courthouse annex and juvenile detention center in downtown Omaha. The commission voted three-to-two on Thursday to issue 114-million dollars in bonds for the controversial project, which is a reversal of the vote against the issuance in January. Several hours of public testimony was received on the matter at a Thursday meeting, mostly from opponents of the detention center. City Council must give its blessing.
