VNA's 21st Annual Art & Soup Fundraiser Benefits Shelter Nursing

The Visiting Nurse Association will host its annual Art & Soup fundraiser Sunday, February 25th.

This year’s honorary chair is welder John Prouty, who won “Best in Show” at least year’s event.

Prouty has been involved with the VNA for nearly three decades, beginning when the VNA helped his dad when he needed hospice care.

He says 100% of the proceeds from the event go to support the VNA’s shelter nursing program.

Prouty says last year, VNA shelter nurses provided over 9,000 face-to-face visits in all homeless and domestic violence shelters in Omaha and Council Bluffs.

He says those attending can sample as many soups as they wish.

"Over 40 local artists and 20 local restaurants (will be in attendance).  The artists are have to be juried in so they’re good.  And then they give 50% of anything they sell to the VNA for their shelter program.  There’s over 20 different restaurants who serve soup to everyone"

And Prouty says those attending may sample as many soups as they wish.

The VNA’s Art & Soup event takes place Sunday, February 25th at the Embassy Suites in La Vista from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Tickets are available online at VNAtoday.org or in person, at the door.
