Girls, Inc. is holding one of its two largest fund-raising events of the year tomorrow night – Girls Night Out.
Roberta Wilhelm, Executive Director of Girls Inc., says there are a few seats still available. This year’s featured entertainer is Chicago-based comedian, Marina Franklin.
Wilhelm says Girls Night Out has been happening in Omaha for 25 years. She says it’s a great fun night out for women – and men.
“We have boutique shopping from local vendors that includes everything from clothing, jewelry, items for your pets, items for your children. They’re raffling off a beautiful bracelet from Borsheims, among some other items that were donated by our many vendors. There will be dinner, cocktails. The Girls, Inc step team will perform, and there will be some girls there, as well, who are interested in finding a mentor.”
Wilhelm says tickets are available at the regular or patron level, and that the funds help pay for a wide variety of holistic programs for girls.
“Everything from science, technology, engineering math; literacy, Yoga, art, fitness, competitive sports, reproductive health. Other health access – things like dental care. You name it – if a girl needs it, we really try to provide it here at Girls, Inc”.
