Three Law Enforcement Agencies Planning To Merge SWAT Units
(Sarpy Co., NE) -- Three eastern Nebraska law enforcement agencies are planning to merge their SWAT officers into one unit. Reports say the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office and the La Vista and Papillion Police Departments all made their case to the county board of commissioners yesterday, saying the move would save taxpayers money and better protect them. The county board and both city councils approved the agreement. The group says it's now trying to get the Bellevue Police Department to join.
