Omaha Public Library Foundation Welcomes Author/Journalist Elaine Weiss for 8th Annual Event

For the eighth consecutive year, the Omaha Public Library Foundation will celebrate literacy and raise dollars for Omaha Public Library through its noted event, Between the Lines.  So, on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, the Omaha Public Library Foundation will welcome author and journalist Elaine Weiss, whose 2018 book, The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote, offers an engaging and historic narrative of the days leading up to the passage of the 19th Amendment.  Granting women the right to vote proved to be a difficult effort, to say the least.  This year marks the 100th anniversary of the amendment’s ratification.

Wendy Townley, Executive Director of the Omaha Public Library Foundation, checked into the KIOS-FM studios for a "Live & Local" segment with Mike Hogan to talk about the foundation, the mission of the library, and the timely importance of this fundraising event.
