March is colorectal cancer awareness month. In fact, the governor’s office finds the topic so important, the governor himself issued a proclamation officially naming March "Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month."

Dr. Evans specializes in gastroenterology and is involved with the Nebraska Cancer Coalition, the nonprofit organization behind the "Dress in Blue Day" and Colon Cancer Awareness efforts. He breaks down the steps that you can take to not only detect colorectal cancer early (increasing chances of survival) but actually preventing any colorectal cancer from developing in the first place.
