43rd Metropolitan Science & Engineering Fair is Virtual, But the Fun is Real, Dan Sitzman Explains

The 43rd annual Metropolitan Science and Engineering Fair (MSEF) will take place virtually on March 3rd. Students grades 6-12 from Washington, Douglas, and Sarpy Counties will present their STEM research to judges who represent scientists, professionals, educators, and enthusiasts from across the Metro area.

Dan Sitzman, President of MSEF explained to Mike Hogan on “Live & Local” that over $3,000 in cash, savings bonds, gift certificates, and trophies were awarded to 255 participants in last year's Metropolitan Science and Engineering Fair. This year's MSEF Fair will also include such awards.

The top 6 MSEF projects from each division will compete in the Nebraska Junior Academy of Sciences (NJAS) Science Fair competition. The top projects at NJAS are invited to present and be published by the American Junior Academy of Sciences.

MSEF is a 501c3 run entirely by volunteers from the community to encourage students to investigate STEM concepts. More information can be found at
