Iowa is spending over half-a-million dollars to boost the childcare workforce. Six-hundred-thousand dollars from the Iowa Department of Education will be split between nine schools offering a Child Development Associate program. The CDA program gives students a certification in early childhood education. The Districts can use the grant to cover exam fees, or for textbooks, course materials, and stipends.
