100th Anniversary of Omaha Cinco de Mayo - Marcos Mora Discusses History and Future on KIOS-FM

This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Omaha Cinco de Mayo celebration that will take place May 8-10, 2020 on historic South 24th Street that has been recognized as one of the top 15 Great Places in America that draws some 125,000 attendees over the 3-day weekend from surrounding states.

?The festival will take place along 24th street from F to L that will feature live music/entertainment, carnival rides, food, exhibitors, health fair, MISS coronation, games, concerts and children’s section. Keeping with tradition, the biggest parade in the Midwest will be on Saturday, May 9th.  Also, a banquet will take place that will recognize Latino families that have contributed to the Omaha fabric of life.

Marcos Mora, Coordinator of Omaha Cinco de Mayo, joined Mike Hogan "Live & Local" to talk about the festival, the historical context, and the century plus of contributions to and from the Latin community here in Omaha.
