(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert is responding to a petition effort to recall her. Stothert sent a six-line letter to Douglas County Election Commissioner Brian Kruse yesterday noting that Omaha is well-managed, safe and economically strong under her leadership. The group, the Coalition to Recall Stothert, will have a 30-day period to collect more than 34-thousand signatures that would be needed to place a recall question on the ballot. Recall organizers announced on Facebook that they plan to pick up petitions May 17th and hold a kickoff rally the next day.
